Used For:

Es-Pramcit tablets contain escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It is used to:

  • Treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD): To improve mood and relieve symptoms of depression.
  • Treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): To reduce excessive anxiety and worry.
  • Manage Panic Disorder: To alleviate symptoms of panic attacks.
  • Treat Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): To reduce symptoms associated with OCD.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Es-Pramcit 10mg may include:

  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue or drowsiness
  • Insomnia or sleep disturbances
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Increased sweating
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

Less common but more serious side effects may include:

  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
  • Suicidal thoughts or behaviors, especially in younger individuals

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Escitalopram is generally considered safe during pregnancy but should be used under medical supervision. It is also excreted in breast milk, so consult your healthcare provider if breastfeeding.
  • Discontinuation: Do not abruptly stop taking escitalopram without consulting your healthcare provider, as this can lead to withdrawal symptoms or worsening of your condition.
  • Liver Function: Dose adjustments may be necessary for individuals with liver impairment. Regular monitoring of liver function may be required.
