Used For:

Entamizole tablets are typically used for the treatment of certain bacterial and protozoal infections, particularly:

  • Bacterial Infections: Such as bacterial vaginosis, certain types of diarrhea caused by bacteria.
  • Protozoal Infections: Including amoebiasis (intestinal infection caused by Entamoeba histolytica).

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, metallic taste in the mouth.
  • Less Common Side Effects: Diarrhea, stomach cramps, dizziness, headache.
  • Serious Side Effects (Rare): Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), severe diarrhea or abdominal pain, dark urine, yellowing of eyes or skin (signs of liver problems).
