Used For
Empaphage (Empagliflozin) is used for:
- Managing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus by lowering blood sugar levels.
- Reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases in diabetic patients.
- Aiding in weight loss and lowering blood pressure in some patients.
Side Effects
Common side effects include:
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Increased urination
- Dehydration (dizziness, thirst, low blood pressure)
- Genital infections (yeast infections in both men and women)
- Ketoacidosis (rare but serious, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain)
Precautions
- Kidney problems: Should be used cautiously in patients with kidney disease.
- Dehydration risk: Drink plenty of water to prevent dizziness and low blood pressure.
