Used For:

Sertraline is an antidepressant in the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. It is used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and social anxiety disorder. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, in the brain to improve mood and reduce anxiety.

Side Effects:

Common side effects include nausea, insomnia, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, sexual dysfunction, and headache. Some people may experience weight changes, gastrointestinal disturbances, or tremors. Rare but serious side effects include suicidal thoughts, serotonin syndrome, and severe allergic reactions.
