Used For:

Efexor XR is an extended-release formulation of Venlafaxine, primarily used for:

  • Major Depressive Disorder: Helps alleviate symptoms of depression by balancing neurotransmitters in the brain.
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Effective in reducing excessive anxiety and worry.
  • Social Anxiety Disorder: Helps manage social anxiety and phobia.
  • Panic Disorder: Can also be prescribed for panic disorder to reduce the frequency of panic attacks.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Efexor XR may include:

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness or fatigue
  • Dry mouth
  • Sweating
  • Constipation
  • Insomnia
  • Increased blood pressure (especially at higher doses)

Less common but more serious side effects may include:
