Used For:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD): Treatment of depression.
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Management of generalized anxiety disorder.
• Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD): Treatment of social anxiety disorder.
• Panic Disorder: Management of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.

• Serious Side Effects:

  • High blood pressure

  • Serotonin syndrome (symptoms include confusion, agitation, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, dilated pupils, muscle rigidity, and sweating)

Precautions:

• Medical History: Inform your healthcare provider of your complete medical history, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure, heart problems, liver or kidney disease, seizures, high cholesterol, glaucoma, or bipolar disorder.
• Monitoring: Regularly monitor blood pressure and other relevant health indicators.
• Avoid Alcohol: Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.
• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Discuss with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Venlafaxine can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
• Interactions: Inform your healthcare provider of all medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking, as venlafaxine can interact with many other drugs.
