Used For:
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat acid-related conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and erosive esophagitis. It is also used to prevent stomach ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or H. pylori infections.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, and flatulence. Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, or kidney problems.
