Used For:

  • Constipation Treatment: Duphalac contains Lactulose, a synthetic sugar used as a laxative to treat chronic or occasional constipation. It works by breaking down in the colon into substances that draw water into the bowel, making the stool softer and easier to pass.
  • Hepatic Encephalopathy: Duphalac is also used to treat or prevent complications of liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy) by reducing the levels of ammonia in the blood.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects: Bloating, gas, stomach cramps, and nausea. These symptoms usually improve with continued use.
  • Less Common Side Effects: Diarrhea (especially at higher doses) and electrolyte imbalance due to excessive fluid loss.

Precautions:
