Used For:

  • Gastrointestinal Disorders

    • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Improves symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation by enhancing gastric motility and reducing acid reflux.
    • Functional Dyspepsia: Helps relieve bloating, nausea, and abdominal discomfort by promoting gastric emptying.
    • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Alleviates associated gastrointestinal symptoms.

  • Psychiatric Disorders

    • Depression and Anxiety: Acts as an adjunct in treating symptoms associated with these conditions.
    • Psychosis (off-label): Due to its dopamine-modulating effects, it may be used in certain psychiatric disorders.

Side Effects:

Precautions:

  • Avoid alcohol and other sedative medications, as they can increase drowsiness and dizziness.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
  • Stand up slowly from sitting or lying down positions to avoid dizziness or fainting due to low blood pressure.
  • Follow the prescribed dosage and schedule carefully. Do not discontinue the medication abruptly without consulting your doctor, as this may lead to withdrawal symptoms or worsening of the condition.
