Used For:

  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): The combination of amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) and valsartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
    • Amlodipine helps relax and widen blood vessels, improving blood flow.
    • Valsartan blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels, leading to lower blood pressure.
  • Heart Failure: This combination may also be used to treat heart failure in patients with reduced ejection fraction, to improve heart function and reduce the risk of hospitalization or death.

Side Effects:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
