Product Description

Product Name: Diampa Tablet 10mg

Product Form: Tablets

Pack Size: 14's

Manufactured By: Getz Pharma

Used For:

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, is used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes by preventing the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose, allowing excess glucose to be excreted in the urine.
  • Heart Failure: It is also used in the management of heart failure (with reduced ejection fraction) to reduce hospitalizations and improve survival.
  • Chronic Kidney Disease: Empagliflozin can slow the progression of chronic kidney disease in patients with diabetes or heart failure.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Diampa 10mg may include:

  • Drowsiness or sedation
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle weakness or coordination problems
  • Memory problems or confusion
  • Dry mouth

Less common but more serious side effects may include:

  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
  • Severe mood changes (e.g., depression, suicidal thoughts)
  • Respiratory depression (difficulty breathing)
  • Dependence or withdrawal symptoms (e.g., agitation, tremors, seizures) with long-term use
  • Liver problems (e.g., jaundice, dark urine)

Precautions:

  • Dependency and Withdrawal: Diazepam can be habit-forming, and long-term use can lead to physical and psychological dependence. It is important to use it exactly as prescribed and consult your healthcare provider before stopping the medication.
  • Driving and Operating Machinery: Diazepam may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid these activities until you know how the medication affects you.
  • Alcohol and Drug Interactions: Avoid alcohol while taking diazepam, as it can enhance the sedative effects and increase the risk of serious side effects. Inform your healthcare provider of all medications and supplements you are taking, as diazepam can interact with other drugs, including other central nervous system depressants.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Diazepam is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, due to potential risks to the developing fetus. It also passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding while taking diazepam is usually not advised unless the benefits outweigh the risks.
  • Liver and Kidney Function: Dose adjustments may be necessary for individuals with liver or kidney impairment, as diazepam is metabolized by the liver and excreted by the kidneys.
  • Mental Health Conditions: Monitor for any worsening of mood or behavior, especially if there is a history of depression or other mental health issues. Report any concerning changes to your healthcare provider promptly.
