Used For:

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: The combination of metformin (a biguanide) and empagliflozin (an SGLT2 inhibitor) is used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes:
    • Metformin helps decrease glucose production by the liver and increases insulin sensitivity in the muscles.
    • Empagliflozin helps lower blood sugar by promoting glucose excretion through the urine.
  • Additional Benefits: This combination may also help in weight management and improve cardiovascular health by reducing the risk of heart failure and kidney disease progression.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Diampa-M may include:

  • Drowsiness or sedation
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Dry mouth

Less common but more serious side effects may include:

  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
  • Severe mood changes (e.g., depression, suicidal thoughts)
  • Respiratory depression (difficulty breathing)
  • Dependency or withdrawal symptoms with long-term use of diazepam
  • Neuropathy symptoms worsening (in rare cases)

Precautions:

  • Dependency and Withdrawal: Diazepam can be habit-forming and lead to dependence. Use it only as prescribed and consult your healthcare provider before discontinuing use.
  • Driving and Operating Machinery: Diazepam may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid these activities until you understand how the medication affects you.
  • Alcohol and Drug Interactions: Avoid alcohol while taking diazepam, as it can enhance sedative effects. Inform your healthcare provider of all other medications and supplements, as diazepam can interact with various drugs.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Diazepam is generally not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Methylcobalamin is usually considered safe but consult your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Liver and Kidney Function: Adjustments may be necessary for those with liver or kidney issues, as diazepam is metabolized by the liver and excreted by the kidneys.
  • Neurological Conditions: Methylcobalamin is used to support nerve health. Report any changes in neurological symptoms to your healthcare provider.
