Manufactured By: GSK

Used For:

Dermovate NN Ointment is a topical medication that contains two active ingredients:

  1. Clobetasol Propionate: This is a potent corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, itching, and redness associated with various skin conditions.
  2. Neomycin Sulfate: This is an antibiotic that helps prevent or treat bacterial infections of the skin.

Dermovate NN Ointment is commonly used for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions that are complicated by or at risk of bacterial infection, including:

  1. Eczema: A condition characterized by red, itchy, and inflamed skin.
  2. Dermatitis: Inflammation of the skin, which can be caused by various factors such as allergies or irritants.
  3. Psoriasis: A chronic autoimmune condition that causes the rapid buildup of skin cells, resulting in thick, red, and scaly patches.

Side Effects:

While Dermovate NN Ointment is effective, it may cause some side effects, especially with prolonged use or if applied to sensitive areas. Common side effects may include:

  1. Skin Irritation: Burning, stinging, itching, or redness at the application site.
  2. Skin Thinning: Prolonged use of corticosteroids like clobetasol propionate may cause thinning of the skin, particularly in sensitive areas or with occlusive dressings.
  3. Allergic Reactions: Rarely, some users may experience an allergic reaction characterized by severe itching, rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.

If you experience severe irritation or signs of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider promptly.

Precautions:

Before using Dermovate NN Ointment, consider the following precautions:

  1. Allergies: Inform your healthcare provider if you are allergic to clobetasol propionate, neomycin sulfate, or any other medications.
  2. Medical Conditions: Discuss your medical history, especially if you have any skin conditions, allergies, or infections.
  3. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this ointment.
  4. Avoid Contact with Eyes and Mucous Membranes: Do not apply the ointment to the eyes, mouth, nose, or other mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  5. Proper Use: Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected area and gently massage it into the skin. Wash your hands after application.
  6. Avoid Occlusive Dressings: Do not cover the treated area with bandages or occlusive dressings unless directed by your healthcare provider, as this may increase the absorption of the medication and the risk of side effects.
  7. Children and Elderly: Use with caution in children and the elderly, as they may be more susceptible to side effects, especially with prolonged use.

Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider and the instructions provided with the medication for the safest and most effective use of Dermovate NN Ointment.
