Deplat-Ap tablets contain a combination of two active ingredients: clopidogrel and aspirin. This combination is used to prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular events in patients with a history of coronary artery disease (CAD), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), or ischemic stroke.
- Clopidogrel: An antiplatelet agent that prevents blood cells (platelets) from sticking together and forming clots.
- Aspirin: A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that also has antiplatelet effects, further preventing clot formation.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Deplat-Ap 75/75mg may include:
- Upset stomach or indigestion
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Bruising or bleeding more easily than usual
- Headache
Less common but more serious side effects may include:
- Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
- Gastrointestinal bleeding (e.g., black or bloody stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds)
- Severe bleeding complications (e.g., bleeding in the brain)
- Liver problems (e.g., jaundice, dark urine)
- Kidney issues (e.g., changes in urine output)
Precautions:
- Bleeding Risks: Both clopidogrel and aspirin increase the risk of bleeding. Monitor for signs of unusual bleeding or bruising and report any significant changes to your healthcare provider.
- Gastrointestinal Issues: Aspirin can irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding. Use with caution if you have a history of gastrointestinal issues.
- Allergies: Ensure there are no known allergies to clopidogrel, aspirin, or other NSAIDs. Discontinue use and seek medical attention if an allergic reaction occurs.
- Drug Interactions: Inform your healthcare provider of all other medications and supplements you are taking, as Deplat-Ap can interact with various drugs, including other anticoagulants, NSAIDs, and certain antidepressants.
- Kidney and Liver Function: Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function may be necessary, particularly in patients with pre-existing conditions.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Deplat-Ap should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and under medical supervision. It is generally not recommended during breastfeeding.
- Surgery or Dental Procedures: Inform your healthcare provider or dentist that you are taking Deplat-Ap before undergoing any surgical or dental procedures, as you may need to stop the medication temporarily to reduce bleeding risk.
