Used For:

Lisinopril is an ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor commonly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It can also be prescribed after a heart attack to improve survival. By relaxing blood vessels and reducing blood pressure, lisinopril helps decrease the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney issues.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up
• Persistent dry cough
• Headache
• Fatigue

Less common but more serious side effects:

• High potassium levels (hyperkalemia)
• Kidney function changes
• Severe allergic reactions (angioedema), causing swelling of the face, lips, or throat
