Used For:

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure): Co-Diovan is primarily prescribed to manage high blood pressure, helping to reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke.
  • Heart Failure: It may also be used to improve symptoms in patients with heart failure and decrease the risk of hospitalizations.
  • Valsartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that can cause blood vessels to constrict. By inhibiting its effects, valsartan helps relax and widen blood vessels, leading to lower blood pressure and reduced strain on the heart.
