Used For:

Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic commonly used to treat bacterial infections, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Sinus infections
  • Ear infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Stomach infections caused by Helicobacter pylori (often in combination with other medications)
  • Certain infections in people with HIV

Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

  • Nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain
  • Diarrhea
