Used For:

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Cialis is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men by increasing blood flow to the penis and helping achieve and maintain an erection.
  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): It is also used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, such as difficulty urinating or frequent urination, in men.
  • ED and BPH Combination: Cialis can be used to treat both erectile dysfunction and symptoms of BPH simultaneously in some cases.

Side Effects:

  • Headache: A common side effect experienced by many users.
  • Indigestion: May cause discomfort or upset stomach.
  • Back Pain and Muscle Aches: Typically occur within 12 to 24 hours of taking the medication.
  • Flushing: Redness or warmth in the face or other parts of the body.
  • Nasal Congestion: Blocked or stuffy nose.
  • Dizziness: Light-headedness or dizziness may occur.
  • Vision Changes: Rarely, it may cause changes in vision, such as a bluish tint or difficulty distinguishing colors.
  • Priapism: An erection lasting more than 4 hours, which requires immediate medical attention.

Precautions:

  • Heart Health: Caution is advised in patients with a history of heart disease or those who have experienced a recent stroke or heart attack.
  • Low Blood Pressure: Cialis can cause a drop in blood pressure; caution is needed for patients with hypotension or those taking blood pressure medications.
  • Drug Interactions: Inform your healthcare provider of all medications you are taking, particularly nitrates, as combining Cialis with nitrates can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • Kidney and Liver Function: Dose adjustments may be necessary for patients with kidney or liver impairment.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not applicable as Cialis is not indicated for use in women.
  • Allergic Reactions: Discontinue use and seek medical attention if signs of a severe allergic reaction occur, such as rash, itching, or swelling.
