Used For:

Ceflactam is a combination of Cefoperazone (a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic) and Sulbactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Intra-abdominal infections
  • Septicemia (blood infections)
  • Gynecological infections
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Meningitis

Side Effects:

Common side effects include:

  • Pain at the injection site
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Rash or itching
  • Fever
  • Headache

Serious but rare side effects:

  • Allergic reactions (swelling, difficulty breathing)
  • Severe diarrhea (Clostridium difficile infection)
