Used For:

Cefidox Syrup contains Cefpodoxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, used to treat bacterial infections in children, such as:

  • Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Ear infections (otitis media)
  • Throat infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Sinus infections (sinusitis)

Side Effects:

  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Headache
  • Rash or itching
  • Dizziness
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., hives, swelling, difficulty breathing)
  • Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis
  • Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (C. diff infection)
