Used For:

• Schizophrenia: Manages hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thoughts.

• Bipolar Disorder: Controls manic episodes and mood swings.

• Irritability in Autism: Reduces aggression, tantrums, and self-injury in children and adolescents with autism.

• Behavioral Disorders (off-label): Sometimes used to manage severe behavioral problems in children or elderly patients (only under medical supervision).

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness or dizziness

• Weight gain

• Increased appetite

• Fatigue or weakness

• Restlessness (akathisia)

• Tremors or muscle stiffness

• Constipation or dry mouth

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol — it can increase drowsiness and dizziness.

• Use with caution if you have heart disease, diabetes, or seizures.

• Monitor weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol during long-term use.
