Used For:

  • Open-Angle Glaucoma: Helps lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with this type of glaucoma.
  • Ocular Hypertension: Effective in managing elevated eye pressure to prevent potential damage to the optic nerve.

Side Effects:

  • Local Reactions: Temporary stinging or burning sensation upon instillation.
  • Visual Disturbances: Blurred vision or dry eyes may occur.
  • General Reactions: Fatigue, dizziness, or a slow heart rate (bradycardia) may happen in rare cases.
  • Allergic Reactions: Rash or increased redness of the eyes may occur, requiring discontinuation of the medication.

Precautions:

  • Cardiac Conditions: Use with caution in patients with a history of heart problems or those taking other beta-blockers.
