Used For:

High blood pressure (hypertension) (more effective than Losartan alone)

Reduces stroke risk in hypertensive patients

Treats fluid retention (edema) in some cases

Protects kidneys in diabetic patients (by reducing pressure and fluid buildup)

Side Effects:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

  • Fatigue

  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)

  • Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

  • Nausea or stomach pain

  • Rarely, kidney dysfunction

Precautions:

  • Avoid in pregnancy (can harm the baby)

  • Monitor kidney function and potassium levels regularly

  • May interact with NSAIDs, diuretics, or potassium supplements

  • Avoid high-potassium foods (like bananas, avocados, or salt substitutes)
