Used For:

  • Bacterial infections of the respiratory tract (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Intra-abdominal infections

  • Eye infections (as moxifloxacin eye drops)

  • Certain types of urinary and genital infections

Side Effects:

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Dizziness or headache

  • Abdominal pain

  • Changes in taste

  • Mild rash or itching

  • Insomnia or restlessness

  • Rare but serious: tendon rupture, nerve damage (tingling or numbness), irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation), liver problems, or severe allergic reactions

Precautions:

  • Avoid if you have a history of tendon disorders or myasthenia gravis.

  • Use with caution in patients with heart rhythm disorders or those taking other QT-prolonging drugs.

  • Avoid excessive sunlight or UV exposure—may cause photosensitivity.

  • Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or nerve problems.

  • Not recommended for children or pregnant women unless prescribed.

  • Do not take with antacids or supplements containing iron or zinc at the same time—may reduce absorption.
