Manufactured By: Servier Research And Pharmaceuticals Pakistan

Used For:

  1. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Nebivolol is commonly prescribed to lower blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances in the body, such as adrenaline, which can elevate heart rate and blood pressure.

  2. Heart Failure: Nebivolol may also be used to manage chronic heart failure, a condition in which the heart's ability to pump blood is weakened.

Side Effects:

Like all medications, Barilol 2.5mg tablets can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Common side effects may include:

  1. Fatigue or Weakness: Feeling tired or weak, especially during the first few days of treatment.

  2. Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Particularly when standing up from a sitting or lying position.

  3. Headache: Mild to moderate headaches may occur.

  4. Gastrointestinal Symptoms: Including nausea, stomach pain, or diarrhea.

  5. Cold Extremities: Some individuals may experience cold hands or feet.

  6. Decreased Libido: A decrease in sexual desire or performance may occur in some people.

Less common but more serious side effects may include:

  1. Bradycardia: A slow heart rate.

  2. Worsening Heart Failure: In individuals with heart failure, Nebivolol may worsen symptoms such as shortness of breath or swelling in the legs.

If you experience any concerning side effects while taking Barilol tablets, it's essential to inform your healthcare provider.

Precautions:

  1. Asthma or COPD: If you have asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), use Nebivolol with caution, as it can cause bronchospasm and worsen breathing difficulties in some individuals.

  2. Diabetes: Nebivolol may mask some of the signs of low blood sugar in individuals with diabetes. Monitor your blood sugar levels closely if you have diabetes and are taking Nebivolol.

  3. Liver or Kidney Disease: Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.

  4. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss the risks and benefits of taking Barilol tablets with your doctor.

  5. Other Medications: Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements, as Nebivolol may interact with certain medications.

  6. Abrupt Discontinuation: Do not stop taking Nebivolol suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can lead to rebound hypertension or worsening of heart failure symptoms.

Always take Barilol tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor and follow their instructions carefully. If you have any questions or concerns about your medication, consult your healthcare provider.
