Used For:

Aztreonam is used to treat infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria, including:

1. Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)
2. Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
3. Sepsis (bloodstream infections)
4. Intra-abdominal infections (e.g., peritonitis)
5. Skin and soft tissue infections
6. Gynecological infections (e.g., pelvic inflammatory disease)
7. Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, often in patients with cystic fibrosis (via inhalation therapy in some cases).

Side Effects:

• Common side effects:

  • Diarrhea
