Used For:

• Treatment of osteoarthritis, especially for pain relief and joint stiffness
• Managing symptoms of other degenerative joint diseases
• Slowing down cartilage breakdown and joint degeneration

Side Effects:

• Diarrhea or loose stools, especially when first starting treatment
• Abdominal pain or discomfort
• Dark-colored urine (due to pigment metabolites, generally harmless)
• Rarely, skin reactions like rash or itching
• Liver enzyme changes (elevation) in rare cases

Precautions:

• Start With a Low Dose: To reduce gastrointestinal side effects, start with a low dose and gradually increase as directed by a healthcare provider.

• Avoid in Kidney Disease: Diacerein is not recommended for people with severe kidney impairment.
