Used For:

Aggrastat contains Tirofiban, a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor used as an antiplatelet medication. It helps prevent blood clots in people with:

• Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) (e.g., unstable angina or heart attack)
• Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) (such as angioplasty or stent placement)

It works by preventing platelets from sticking together, reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Side Effects:

Common side effects:

• Bleeding (from gums, nose, or injection site)
• Bruising easily
• Headache or dizziness
• Low blood pressure

Rare but serious side effects:

• Severe bleeding (internal bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, or brain hemorrhage)
• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)
• Slow or irregular heartbeat
• Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia)

Precautions:
