Product Description
Product Name: Aerocef 100mg/5ml Syrup 30ml
Product Form: Syrup
Pack Size: 30ml
Manufactured By: Raazee Therapeutics
Used for:
- Bacterial infections: Aerocef Suspension is prescribed to treat various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. These infections may include respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis), urinary tract infections, otitis media (middle ear infection), and certain types of bacterial gastroenteritis.
Side effects:
- Gastrointestinal disturbances: Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. These symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own.
- Allergic reactions: Some individuals may experience allergic reactions to cefixime, presenting with symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face, lips, or throat), difficulty breathing, or anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction).
- Superinfections: Antibiotic use, including cefixime, can lead to the development of secondary infections caused by resistant bacteria or fungi.
- Rare side effects: Although less common, cefixime can also cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, drowsiness, or changes in blood counts (e.g., leukopenia, thrombocytopenia).
Precautions:
- Allergy: Inform your healthcare provider if you have a known allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporins, penicillins, or any other medications. A history of allergy to these medications may increase the risk of allergic reactions to cefixime.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Cefixime may be prescribed during pregnancy or lactation if the potential benefits outweigh the risks, but it should only be used if clearly needed and under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
- Kidney function: If you have impaired kidney function, your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dosage of Aerocef Suspension or monitor you more closely while taking the medication.
- Liver function: If you have liver disease or impairment, your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dosage of Aerocef Suspension or monitor you more closely while taking the medication.
- Drug interactions: Inform your healthcare provider about all medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking, as cefixime may interact with certain medications, including antacids containing magnesium or aluminum, which can reduce the absorption of cefixime.
- Complete the course: It's essential to complete the full course of Aerocef Suspension as prescribed by your healthcare provider, even if you start feeling better before the medication is finished. Failure to complete the course can lead to the development of antibiotic resistance.
Always take Aerocef Suspension exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider and report any side effects or concerns promptly. If you have any questions or uncertainties about its use, consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
