Used For:

  1. Diclofenac Sodium:

    • Purpose: Relieves pain, inflammation, and swelling. It is effective in treating conditions like arthritis, muscle pain, and joint pain.
    • Used For: Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other painful inflammatory conditions.

  2. Misoprostol:

    • Purpose: Protects the stomach lining by promoting mucus and bicarbonate secretion, reducing the risk of NSAID-induced ulcers.
    • Used For: Preventing gastric ulcers in patients who are taking NSAIDs long-term.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects:
    • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
    • Abdominal pain or cramping
    • Indigestion or flatulence
  • Serious Side Effects:
    • Stomach ulcers or bleeding (though reduced by misoprostol, the risk still exists)
