Used For:

Progesterone is a natural hormone and a synthetic medication used for:

  • Menstrual & reproductive health:
    • Regulating menstrual cycles
    • Treating irregular periods or amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)
    • Supporting early pregnancy in women with recurrent miscarriages
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT):
    • Combined with estrogen in postmenopausal women to prevent endometrial hyperplasia
  • Fertility treatments:
    • Used in IVF (in vitro fertilization) and luteal phase support
  • Preventing preterm birth in high-risk pregnancies
  • Treating endometriosis & hormone-related disorders

Side Effects:

  • Nausea, bloating
  • Headache, dizziness
  • Mood changes (depression, irritability)

  • Weight gain or fluid retention
