Used For:

  1. Nausea and Vomiting: Commonly prescribed to prevent or treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, surgery, or other medical conditions.
  2. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Helps to manage symptoms associated with GERD by increasing the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and accelerating gastric emptying.
  3. Gastroparesis: Used in diabetic patients to help with stomach emptying and alleviate symptoms such as nausea and bloating.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

  1. Drowsiness or Fatigue
  2. Dizziness
  3. Diarrhea
  4. Dry Mouth
  5. Headache

Serious but rare side effects can include:

  1. Extrapyramidal Symptoms: Such as tremors, rigidity, or uncontrollable movements.
