Used For:

  • Anxiety and Depression: Brexa (containing escitalopram or a similar active ingredient) is primarily used to treat anxiety disorders and major depressive disorder (MDD).
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): It may also be prescribed for managing OCD by balancing chemicals in the brain.
  • Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety: It can help reduce symptoms related to panic attacks and social phobia.

Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects:
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Dry mouth
    • Insomnia or drowsiness
    • Increased sweating
    • Headaches
  • Less Common Side Effects:
    • Sexual dysfunction (decreased libido, erectile dysfunction)
