Used For: 

Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:

• Respiratory infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Ear infections

• Throat infections (e.g., tonsillitis, strep throat)

• Sinus infections

• Skin infections

• Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia, gonorrhea)

• Traveler’s diarrhea (in some cases)

 Side Effects:

Most are mild and go away on their own:

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Stomach pain or cramps

• Headache

• Dizziness

• Changes in taste

Less common but more serious:

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

• Liver problems (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine)

• Heart rhythm issues (QT prolongation—rare but serious)

Precautions:

1. Allergies:
